DN10 Area (Beckingham and surrounding villages)
Update for the start of the week 7th Sept shows that all areas in and around our postcode have started to rise again with Beckingham (DN10) now standing at 205
Gainsborough is static with 196 – a decrease of -38.2% over the past 7 days.
Retford is also on the rise again with 431 an increase of 8.8% over the past 7 rolling days.
Finningley is still the highest infection rate in our area at 563
Bassetlaw as a whole has positive cases at 372 for the week ending 7th Sept (a decrease of 12.5%) with a rate per 100,000 to 328and still lower than the national rate.
Bassetlaw recorded one new death in the past 24 hours. The deaths in Bassetlaw area alone are 239 within 28 days giving a rate per 100,000 of 213.9.
There have been 46 new covid Hospital admissions in Bassetlaw in the week to 29th August (up 18.6%) with 4 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator.
1st vaccines for the whole of Bassetlaw reported on 7th September was 19 with 2nd doses 138 is disappointing given the higher infection rate across the whole area.
The National figures continue to rise with a rate per of 370 per 100k with 269,193 new cases in the last 7 rolling days - that's an increase of 13.9% on the week. UK infections are the 5th highest in the world and the highest in Europe.
Sadly another 209 more people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid and bringing the UK total to 133,483 The UK death rate is the highest in Europe and the 8th highest in the world There are now 88.8% of the adult population having had at least one vaccination.
NOTE: this figure now includes 17 – 19 year olds.
National Hospital admissions continue to rise with 6,641 in the same week (up 1.6%) that averages out to 905 new admissions every day. These figures were last updated on 3rd September and again show a continued gradual increase.
National 1st and 2nd vaccination figures show 22,698 and 80,015 in the past 24 hour period.
Latest data from ONS show covid-19 deaths continue to rise previous week to 13th August Death rates per 100,000 in the UK are steadily increasing, now standing at 198.7 while deaths where Covid-19 is mentioned on the death certificate is 156,888 or a rate of 233.9 per 100,000 of the population.

New Testing Site as rates increase
New Testing site as Bassetlaw rates increase
With Covid-19 rates in Bassetlaw currently the highest in Nottinghamshire, we're urging people over 18 to get a rapid Covid test. One in three people have Covid-19 and don't have symptoms, but can still infect others.
Rapid lateral flow testing for people without symptoms helps to identify those who are positive, so they can take steps to reduce the spread of the virus to other people. If you test positive on your rapid test, you and anyone you live with will need to self-isolate and order a follow-up PCR test as soon as possible.
A mobile unit offering rapid, lateral flow tests will be available at:
- Old Market Square in Worksop, Outside the Savoy Cinema
- Friday 23 – Saturday 24 July from 10am – 4.30pm
- Mondays – Saturdays, 10am – 4.30pm, starting 26 July for the next three weeks
