The bottle bank in the Village Hall carpark is overflowing and is in desperate need of emptying. The bottle bank should be emptied by Glass Recycling Ltd ( tel 01226 727298) but it appears they are well behind schedule with many of our neighbouring villages suffering similar problems. Open Garden Day

Thank you to all those who supported our Open Garden Day at Primrose Cottage. We raised the magnificent sum of £410 for the National Garden Scheme whose main charity is Macmillan.

Fire at Saundby Garage

Fire at Saundby Garage

Cars and property destroyed

Cars were destroyed after a fire at our local Powerhouse Car Centre, Ramper road Saundby on Monday night 24th May. Fire crews from around the area attended the scene but were unable to save many of the vehicles with 3 being totally destroyed and a further 10 badly damaged. The frontage of the garage was badly burnt. A fire investigation is underway.

It was a great pleasure to meet up with one of our residents this month— John Simpson was keen to show his appreciation for the efforts your PC are doing for the community. In particular the newsletter impressed John and he recognised the costs involved so wanted to pay for the next edition.
